Jared Guzman | Associate in Grant Writing
EDUCATION
Jared graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2005 where he completed his bachelor’s degree in reporting from the UW School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He also earned a degree in Political Science. Jared is a 2001 graduate of Xavier High School in Appleton.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Following graduation, Jared spent nearly two years working as a Legislative Assistant in the Wisconsin State Assembly. During his time there, Jared was primarily responsible for external communication from the 56th Assembly District Office, including: constituent correspondence and casework, scheduling, and contact with news media outlets.
Jared also had the opportunity to assist with the research and development of a number of legislative policy issues, including: Government Ethics Reform, Economic Development, Indigent Defense and Education reform.
During his time at UW, Jared spent two years working as a Marketing Assistant to the current Communications Director for the University of Wisconsin Student Union.
PERSONAL
Jared enjoys reading, writing, traveling, playing golf and basketball, and following Wisconsin Badger Athletics.
